A standard label has a paper face, an adhesive layer and a silicone-coated paper backing called the liner. The liner exists only so the label can sit on a roll without sticking to itself. After the label is applied, the liner is thrown away. Across a 24/7 production line, that's hundreds of kilos a week going to landfill.

Linerless label media removes the backing paper entirely. The adhesive sits on a release-coated face. The result is 30–50% more labels on a roll of the same diameter, far fewer roll changes per shift, and zero liner waste.
